HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SEASON

Earlswood Seniors were involved in the fastest goal for the third consecutive year.  They found the Hockley Heath net within nine seconds without the oppoent touching the ball.

David Parsons of Leafield's Nursery team found the net in twenty nine games out of thirty one and was the leagues most consistent marksman.

Louis Atkinson, Claverdon Boys' Minor League Goalkeeper regulary played half of a game between the sticks and had a spelll in the outfield later in the match.  He performed in this dual role in at least half of the games he participated in.

Unbeaten in the league, Astwood Bank the Senior champions were knocked out of both the Cup competitions by Elmdon Colts.  A bogey team if ever they had one.

Rob Barnes scored twelve times in a game for Elmdon Swifts against Chelmsley Wood's Nursery team last year.  He turns out for Solihull Swifts next season so goalkeeper beware!

What price stamina?  Lodge Star, the youngest Minor league side last term could have collected at least another half a dozen points if they had not collapsed late in their games.  There was only one goal in it at the interval in seven of their league matches but eventually suffered heavy defeats through not lasting the pace.

Elmdon Colts registered two double figure victories over lowly Wroxhall but the struggling underdogs sprang the suprise of the season when they hammered a strong Leafield side by 6 - 2 in the Senior section.

Michael and Stephen Dale became the youngest twins to play for a Central Warwickshire team.  They are both on Woodbank Albion's Nursery League books.

Woodbank Boys Minor team found the net in all their games except one.  Earlswood Boys were the only side to deny them a goal.  This was a Good Friday game.  Not so for Woodbank.

Chelmsley Wood's senior team were involved in five games where they conceded goals during the final five minutes.

Twelve years old Mark Fogarty of Elmdon Swifts made two dozen appearances in the Nursery League.

Neil Firman of Astwood Bank Boys only failed to score in three games.  He found the net in seventeen games out of twenty.  Neil plays for Entaco next season.

Paul Wilson of Woodbank Boys Minor team was the youngest player to score in 1973 - 74, and the highest goalscorer in '74 - '75.

Balsall Hornets Juniors John Reeder hit eight goals against Highfield in the Nursery league on the same day that Leafield's Micky Bill was knocking home four goals in an eight minute spell against Hyrea in the Senior section.

What price revenge?  Earlswood were humiliated by Elmdon Colts at home by 9 -2 but more than made up for it by dospensing with the former champions in the semi-final of the 'Solihull News' Cup to bring about a suprising but well earned away victory.

Where were the hot-shots last term?  Woodbank Boys appeared to have most of them in their Minor section team.  Their 153 league goals meant an average of seven goals a game.

The oldest referee in the country, Mr. Hector Green of Stratford-upon-Avon officiated over a number of games.  Mr. Green is a Septuagenarian.

Peterbrook's John Hazel scored off three penalties in his sides 5 - 3 home defeat against Shenley Radford. (Minor League).
